Twenty-First Week #24 - Injury and Influenza

Fairy Tail (anime) on TV
Fairy Tail (anime) on TV

February 16th, 2019

It's been about 3 weeks but here it goes. Very short. I hope. Furthermore, since it's been so long I hardly can remember.

This entry will cover my experiences: January 21st -27th 2019.

Monday (January 21st):

  • I injured myself during P.E. class. We played basketball and when I was chasing the ball it hit the wall beneath the basket, bounced back and hit my thumb straight. It didn't hurt that much at the beginning but I was kind of shocked I guess and when I went out to cool it with some water and the teacher asked if I needed to go to the nurse's office I started crying XD. Anyway,  went to the office and got this white bandage thing and a bag filled with water and ice cubes to cool my finger/hand.
  • Ate lunch alone because I didn't want to bother anyone with the big water bag and I couldn't eat properly.

Tuesday (22nd):

  • In IT class my neighbor told me that she likes the anime Fairy Tail and that the newest episodes are actually on TV every sunday.
  • Influenza was spreading in, I guess, most parts of Japan and so also in school one or two classes were closed in order to prevent further spread. Especially during influenza spreading periods you see most Japanese people with masks in trains and at work/in school/wherever. I'm not quite sure of its effectiveness and masks don't go well with my glasses and my nose so it gets misted and hot, which is like the most uncomfortable feeling to have infront of your eyes and nose. No, thank you. I prefer simply washing my hands diligently.
  • In the evening I checked my thumb/hand after the basketball incident: It was way bluerererererer and swollen than expected. I don't know why I'm good at hurting my fingers doing ball sports.

Wednesday (23rd):

  • Trying to read Japanese answers to English exercises.
  • In another English class I was asked what I'd done that weekend but I couldn't remember XD So I was very boring and that's not so good :D

Thursday (24th):

  • In German class I was group with some guys and it was actually quite fun because I was able to make "jokes" or something. Able to embarass and enjoy myself.
  • Had fun talking to a girl from one English class and with one girl from chorus.

March 3rd 2019

Friday (25th):

  • While some took an English proficiency test, those who did not studied English at a classroom. I did maths homework instead ^^'. Unfortunately, although I was allowed to leave whenever I want, I did not leave before the listening exercises started, so that I had to wait until it was over in order not to interrupt by packing and leaving.

Saturday (26th):

  • I had no plans so I found time to tidy up my room, vacuum it, update this blog, and write the speech I would have to give the next week at an international exchange party. Also played some League of Legends, which is a game sent by the god of procrastination and upset.

Sunday (27th):

  • Also no plans, but as my friend has informed me of, new Fairy Tail (anime) episode would be on TV on sunday morning so I watched that. And was very confused because of the story that I have not been following up on, but it still had some Fairy Tail flare.
  • Went to the library of the town because I had not been out all day and although I was looking for Ao Haru Ride Mangas, I found Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which was the first Harry Potter book I'd ever read. It mesmerized me. I literally (because it's a book - intended pun) couldn't stop reading and finish the whole thing in one sitting. I see, though, why fierce Potter fans criticize it.
